Saturday, March 15, 10:00-11:30 AM - Technology Learning Center EXCEL TIPS AND TRICKS You will learn tips for formatting, printing and displaying big spreadsheets. Among other skills, you learn how to print titles on consecutive pages, freeze columns and rows when displaying data, hide information from view or printouts, size multiple columns and rows. Diana Lemcoff, owner of Leidan Consulting and former professor at Manchester Community College will be the instructor. Prerequisites: Basic Excel knowledge, create and save a document, copy and paste, and simple text formatting. Walk-ins are welcome, but space is limited to 20 seats with priority given to those who pre-register. Saturday, March 22, 10:00-11:30 AM - Technology Learning Center CREATE A CONTACT LIST USING EXCEL Excel is a very good tool to create a contact list you can use for invitations, event planning or to keep a list of members or clients. You will learn to sort the list by name, town or other feature, to select particular data and print it. You will learn the correct way to format your data to do mail merges. One on one tutorials are available every Friday from 10:00-11:00 in the office of the Head of Adult Services. You may make an appointment or just drop in for help. Learn how to set up an email account or download books and magazines to your device.
In addition to our hands-on computer classes, the Simsbury Library offers Simsbury residents free access to Universal Class, an online continuing education service designed specifically for use by public library patrons of all ages. Courses are offered on a range of subjects, including technology. If you would like to try one of these in-depth online classes, you will need a valid Simsbury Public Library card and a valid e-mail address.
