(shingles), Varicella Zoster vaccine (chicken pox prevention) - 4

Arthritis - can donate if no red, hot, swol en joints
Asthma - can donate if no symptoms
Endoscopy procedure with biopsy - can donate 4 months after
Body/Ear Piercing/Acupuncture - can donate if done with a
sterile, single use needle or piercing gun with single use studs, Heart Ablation - can donate
Heart Attack (MI) - can donate after 12 months after resolved
Heart Surgery (Angioplasty, Stents, Coronary Bypass) - can
Skin cancer- can donate if type known
donate after 6 months after procedure and no symptoms Melanoma, Malignant Tumors - can donate 1 year
Hemachromatosis - cannot donate
Hepatitis or Undiagnosed Jaundice after the age of 10 - cannot
Blood cancers - cannot donate
Cold, Fever, Flu Bronchitis, Sore Throat, Cough - can donate Major/Minor Surgery - can donate after healed and feeling wel
Pacemaker - can donate
Cold sore, Fever or Sun Blister - can donate
Pregnancy/Abortion/Miscarriage - can donate after 6 weeks
Corneal Transplant - cannot donate
Seizures or Convulsions - can donate 12 months after last
Dental Work:
Crown Work - can donate next day; crown placement can
Strokes - can donate after 12 months
Tattoo - can donate after 1 year; no wait for cosmetic tattoos done
Teeth Cleaning, Scaling, Fillings, - can donate the next
Xenotransplant - cannot donate unless received heart valve(s)
Root Canal, Tooth Extraction - can donate after 3 days
Individuals at Risk for AIDS (HIV)
Do not donate blood if you:

Have ever tested positive for the HIV/AIDS virus Have ever received money, drugs, or other payment for sex Have ever used needle to take drugs, steroids or anything Have hemophilia or used clotting factor concentrates Are a male and had sexual contact with another male, even Have had sexual contact in the past 12 months with anyone SEE BACK FOR TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Europe - cannot donate if spent time that adds up to 5
Lived or emigrated for 5 consecutive years or
years or more in European countries since 1980 (including more - can donate after 3 years

Iraq - can donate after 1 year after leaving
England - cannot donate if spent time that adds up to 3
