Esterified estrogen is another synthetic estrogen. "Esterified" means the estrogen molecules are
bound to sulphur. Examples of esterified estrogens are: Neo-estrone (Canada) and Minest (U.S.)
Examples of estrogens that are bio-identical:
Estrace is E2 or 17β-estradiol in a pil
Tri-est pil : contains 17β-estradiol as well as estrone (E1) and estriol (E3)
Bi-est pil : contains 17β-estradiol and estriolTransdermal (cream)Bi-est and Tri-est transdermal (creams): are compounded "bio-identical" estrogen creams
Examples of progestins (non-bio-identical) A non bioidentical progesterone is actually called a "progestin".
